Team Uswag Ditay conducts general assembly
The Team USWAG Ditay conducted a general assembly last April 16, 2014 held at Barangay Ditay Hall, Municipality of Diplahan, Zamboanga Sibugay. The event was attended by barangay officials (Brgy Captain, Kagawad, sectretary, etc.) and represented by different Purok leaders, Barangay Health Team (Barangay Health Workers) and other stakeholders in the community.
The USWAG Ditay team which comprised the eight medical students of Ateneo de Zamboanga University batch ’17 (ADZU-SOM ‘17), presented in the assembly varied statistics showing the problems found in the barangay. A survey was done initially from 494 households to come up of a baseline data on the general status of the community.
After the data were presented, the people in the community decided on the issues deemed necessary for immediate intervention. They were the once who prioritized their own problems and suggested some plans in solving it.
The assembly was one way to inform the community of their own problems—that needs not only full attention but immediate action—and at the same time showing our presence and glimpse of our intentions in mobilizing each and every people in the community. -A.Sauti
